The Full Story

Ask the Herbalist

I originally created Ask the Herbalist about 10 years ago as a series of articles that was in printed newspaper in Tacoma, WA. I wanted to bring that format back but this time in blog form and eventually this will grow into a podcast.

I wanted a place where  people can ask a question and get a serious answer from experienced herbalists and those studying herbs.

This currently is a Blog and eventually a podcast.

Why Ask the Herbalist?

I wanted to put together a platform to help connect my students with people who need answers while giving my students experience researching situations to help those who need it.

Each question is researched, written, reviewed and then answered by myself or one of my students.

The results are published in our blog on several platforms- herbal elements, herbal elements academy, substack and youtube.

Eventually this will be a podcast after we have several recorded, in the fall of 2026

What Kind of Questions?

You can ask a variety of questions:
  • Herbal Medicine- specific health issues
  • Herbal Techniques- using herbs, creating formulas
  • Nutrition- how herbs can benefit your diet
  • Growing Herbs
  • Whole Herbs vs Active & Principle Ingredients
Questions come from the emails we receive, questions asked from my students and those asked to me in the past from my 8 years of experience at Ubi's Herb Shop from 2010-2017
